Watch out though, meat eaters seem to be rather keen on them too...
Ingredients (makes about 6 large kebabs):
Selection of vegetables. I use:
2 courgettes (cut into chunks)
1 pack button mushrooms (no need to cut)
1 pack cherry tomatoes
1 red & 1 yellow pepper (cut into chunks)
1 pack halloumi cheese (cut into cubes)
Packet of wooden skewers
Method:
Thread the veg and cheese onto the skewers.
Grill on bbq, or under the grill until the cheese is lightly browned.
(I also made a sort of herb marinade for these - chopped herbs mixed with olive oil and drizzled over the top.)

Halloumi kebabs ready to eat. Yum. |
Looks gorgeous. I find that meat eaters go mad for halloumi, especially if they've never had it before. BTW, have just discovered the joy of eating grilled halloumi with fresh lemon juice. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't comment on your other oages, but just like to say that the first line of your :about" page sounds exactly like me hahaha. another tip for london food finds will be the farmers' market. I work there on the weekends (though I'm back in SIngapore for the summer break now) and you can find the most delciious produce and I just love the vibe of the place.

ReplyDeleteYou're totally right, you have to fight those pesky meat eaters off with a stick! Halloumi is so ridiculously delicous, I could eat a whole packet just lightly fried with lemon juice. Great blog btw - need to try out some of your recipes.

ReplyDeleteOoh, Pimlico farmers market - thanks for the tip. I have to say I don't know it but your pics look fab - I'll have to make a trip. I'm tempted to remove the Borough Market suggestion and replace with some other food markets. It just gets too busy there. Enjoy your summer break. c
